Karl Qin has more than 15 years of business development experiences at leading biotech, specialty pharmaceutical, and top medical institutions of the United States. Highly accomplished in striking corporate alliances, he has negotiated and closed over 20 commercial partnership transactions worth over $350 M with a number of global health care organizations including Pfizer, Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Bausch & Lomb. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of CHI Scientific, Inc., a bioscience company in Maynard, MA. Mr. Qin has also served as Vice President of Biopharma Products at NBS Dx., Inc. (Medford, MA). Prior to NBS Dx, he served as Director of Business Development at Genzyme where he led overall business development functions. Before Genzyme, Mr. Qin was Senior Director of Business Development at Control Delivery Systems, Inc. (CDS), a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Watertown, MA. As the head of business development, Mr. Qin was fully responsible for new product planning and corporate alliances in ophthalmology, oncology and interventional cardiology. Prior to his tenure at CDS, Mr. Qin was Director of Technology Transfer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, the largest cancer center in the U.S. Mr. Qin received his Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University, MS in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and graduated from Wuhan University with a BS in Virology.
Dr. Wang has years of experiences in biological research and life science industry. She was Vice President, Sales & Marketing at CHI Scientific, Inc., a bioscience company in Maynard, MA. While at CHI, she successfully developed and executed CHI’s sales & marketing plan for the US market. Being a highly accomplished biologist herself, Dr. Qian has been instrumental in building Genee’s product development and business strategy. After receiving her Ph.D. in biology from New York University, she spend years on molecular biology research at Harvard medical school. Dr. Qian currently serves as senior advisor for several China based bio-pharmaceutical companies in product commercialization. She also advises a number of China government Hi-tech branches in emerging technology incubation and venture. She has a BS in Genetics from Fudan University .
Dr. Huang has many years of experience in developing web-based software applications. He had served as Chief Developer of China BBS technology. Over the years, Dr. Hung has involved in development of several major enterprises network projects. He has cooperated with the United Gene Group, Sino- Biotechnology Company, North America’s Harvard Medical School, the North American Chinese Bio-Medical Association, Fudan University, and Nankai University. As a former biologist, Dr. Huang brings his unique insights and expertise in both lab research and IT solutions in developing Genee’s innovative products. He obtained a Doctorate in Molecular Biology at Fudan University, and then conducted postdoctoral research at Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lu is a seasoned manager with more than 10 years of experiences in the biotechnology, enterprise software, and internet industries. He has been leading numerous enterprise software and web application development projects at several Fortune 500 companies. He provides strong leadership in commercial development of web based software products at Genee. Dr. Lu has a MS in Computer Sciences and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rice University.
Dr. P.C. Zhu is an entrepreneur and scientist in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical field. He has extensive experience in biomedical research and commercial development. He holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics and has years research in neuroscience, HIV, immunology, drug delivery, and animal models. His scientific achievements have been praised by Nature, Nature Review , The New England Journal of Medicine, and the Harvard Gazette as headline news. Leading biopharmaceutical companies such as Invitrogen Corporation and Alnylam Pharmaceuticals are end-user of his inventions. Dr. Zhu entered the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business after his training at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zhu has co-founded a Boston based Biotech company and served as the VP of Operations. He was also a founder and Chairman of the Boston Biotech Club for its first five years.
